Christie, the global visual and audio technology company, has detailed how its AirScan technology is enhancing attractions without the need for traditional touchscreens. The technology is ideal for a range of business, education and entertainment organisations.
The Christie AirScan has been designed to function with Christie Widget Designer, enabling operators and their agencies to programme custom virtual interfaces for environments such as amusement parks and museums. The node-based software allows for touch-free interaction once combined with AirScan’s IR-laser functionality.
A safe solution
AirScan recreates the same interaction logic as used with touchscreens, but without physical contact, enabling longer exhibit lifespans and reassuring touch-conscious audiences in the aftermath of the pandemic. Christie says a number of factors have made its system “often the preferred solution for kiosk applications or interactive installations.”
Destinations can use AirScan for a wide range of uses, such as an LED video wall, projection screens or to even bring life to a basic concrete wall. Christie’s large-scale range sans to distances of up to 30-feet (10m). Guests can trigger actions and interact with virtual objects in a safe and contactless environment, using technology that has seen increased use in interactive theme park experiences.
Customisable experience
When used with the Widget Designer, Christie AirScan has an interface and navigation options that are completely customisable. Customers can create any scenario with up to twenty-four multi-touch points for controls and interactive items, which can be transformed into a touchless setup with AirScan.
Other key product features include advanced motion prediction, damping and stabilising, along with Tangible User Interface Object (TUIO) support and dynamic-gesture programming.
Christie manufactures a comprehensive range of high-quality AV and far-UVC technology products which are utilised in the tourism and leisure industries, such as the soon to conclude Dubai Expo 2020.
The company recently announced two new additions to its 1DLP projector range, available in 9,000 and 10,600 ISO lumen variants.
