Marriott International is to open three properties on Neom’s luxury island Sindalah, situated in the Red Sea off the coast of Saudi Arabia.

The agreement between Neom and Marriott includes the first Autograph Collection hotel in Saudi, as well as two Luxury Collection properties.

The hotels “will express their own unique personality inspired by the exceptional natural landscapes of Neom”, said Jerome Briet, the chief development officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Marriott International.

“We continue to see growth opportunities for our brand portfolio within the destination and Saudi Arabia overall,” Briet added.

Due to open in 2024, the Luxury Collection in Sindalah includes a beach resort with 70 luxury rooms and suites, as well as property with just suites.

Also set to launch in 2024, the Autograph Collection hotel will offer 66 rooms and suites, various dining options, a kids club, and a spa.

Covering an area of around 840,000 square metres, Sindalah will be the first of a group of islands being developed for the giga-project. It is expected to welcome guests from early next year.

It will provide nautical and yachting experiences, more than 400 premium hotel rooms and 300 suites, a beach club, and 38 F&B outlets.

Chris Newman, Neom’s executive director of hotel development, said Neom and Marriott are “building a hospitality experience that captures the spirit of Sindalah’s year-long appeal, while creating unforgettable memories for our guests”.

From Qiddiya to Red Sea, Saudi Arabia is creating several giga-projects and attractions as part the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) Vision 2030.

Neom is a $500 billion ‘land of the future’. It includes The Line, a zero-carbon city with “vertically layered” buildings, as well as Trojena, a mountain resort with a ski village.
