Lo-Q Sees Success and Opportunity for its Mobile Solutions

News

Three parks now using Q-smart, Lo-Q’s smartphone-based offering.  accesso Passport evidences exponential growth in consumer adoption.

Lo-Q Sees Success and Opportunity for its Mobile SolutionsLo-Q plc, the AIM-listed provider of queuing and ticketing solutions to the attractions and leisure industry, has delivered a successful first season for Q-smart, its patented smartphone-based queuing system and is driving significant increase in sales of the accesso Passport mobile ticketing solution as well as the accesso Passport mobile content platform.

Lo-Q’s Q-smart solution was installed at Walibi Holland, one of the Netherland’s top theme parks, in late 2012 and has subsequently been rolled out to other Lo-Q customers: Dreamworld, one of Australia's premier theme parks, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach® , Britain’s biggest tourist attraction. User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with 98% of guests surveyed indicating they would use the Q-smart solution on their next visit.

Additionally, Q-smart will be installed in Vialand, Turkey's first international mega theme park, exhibition centre and shopping centre.

The Q-smart technology is an extension of the Lo-Q product set including the highly successful Q-bot and Q-band devices and allows visitors to use their own mobile device to access the benefits of virtual queuing from their smartphone. By leveraging the guest’s own device, this significantly expands the range of leisure venues and attractions that can deploy the system.  Importantly, the Q-smart solution is Cloud-based which further enhances scalability and reduces upfront investment costs at each venue.

The accesso Passport mobile ticketing solution, serves some of the largest theme park operators in North America including; Cedar Fair Entertainment and Palace Entertainment. With over 40 venues now leveraging accesso’s mobile solution the company has seen more than a 300% increase in the number of mobile tickets sold year over year, and now represents 4-5% of total online sales.

The accesso Passport mobile app platform also achieved an important milestone in 2013 by exceeding 2.75 million downloads. Currently deployed by over 40 venues including; International Speedway Corporation, Herschend Family Entertainment, and Cedar Fair Entertainment, the award winning mobile content platform allows guests to get more out of their visit by providing real time ride and attraction information, connection with their social networks as well as GPS Maps for route-finding. With general market penetration of smartphones approaching 50%, both mobile ticketing and queuing represents an exciting evolution of the Company’s combined technology and highlights the continued growth opportunity.

Commenting on the news, Tom Burnet, Chief Executive Officer of Lo-Q plc said:

“We are delighted at the progress we’ve made with our mobile products over the past year. After our successful Q-smart trial in 2012 we knew we had something pretty extraordinary, and now we have three parks up and running with a further park ready to deploy the system in the coming months, all in under a year.

“I am also delighted with the incredible progress we’ve made with accesso Passport. The very significant growth in consumer adoption is further evidence that accesso continues to lead the theme park technology industry with its innovative, revenue focused offerings.

“As people are becoming more and more technology literate, guests are visiting parks and expecting to use their smartphone to add to and enhance their experience. It is exactly this trend that Passport and Q-smart leverage and our success this year further highlights the confidence our customers have in the value and capability of our technology. By continuing to stay on pace with the rapid adoption of smartphones by consumers, we are well prepared to capture the next level of growth across our ticketing and queuing business.”
