TRIOTECH marked its 15th anniversary with the announcement of a new interactive dark ride attraction for 2015 that will be installed at Knott’s Berry Farm, in Buena Park, California.
Voyage to the Iron Reef, with the animation and gaming system designed and produced by Triotech, allows guests to experience a 3D adventure enhanced with 4D effects and interactivity.
Riding in four-person ‘submarine’ ride vehicles, guests take part in a media-based gaming adventure to save Knott’s. The Iron Reef is populated by ballooning puffer fish and other exciting 3-D creatures which guests blast with freeze rays along 600 feet of track and eleven scenes.
The adventure is designed to be repeatable and is different every time, reacting to the actions and accuracy of the guests.
Commenting on the announcement, Ernest Yale, Triotech’s President and CEO, said, “Triotech is thrilled be recognized as the industry leader when it comes to interactive media-based attractions. This vote of confidence from the Cedar Fair group and specifically the team at Knott’s Berry Farm confirms this recognition and motivates our team of over 100 creators, software specialists, and engineers to surpass guests’ expectations and give them an experience that will make them want to come back over and over again. We feel that park visitors of all age groups will enjoy this unique attraction.”
Triotech recently installed Wonder Mountain’s Guardian at Canada’s Wonderland, also part of the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.
Raffi Kaprelyan, vice president and general manager of Knott’s Berry Farm, said, “The creative team’s ability to create a totally unique story and incorporate cutting edge ride technologies will amaze our guests. The collaboration between Knott’s and Triotech will result in an incredibly interactive ride experience.”
