The Museum of Illusions is ending this year with a total of 40 venues open in 25 countries across the world, which includes the addition of five new attractions during 2022.
Per a press release, the Museum of Illusions is also enjoying record-breaking attendance and exceeding pre-pandemic levels.
Throughout this year, the company has launched new museums in Brussels, Rome, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
“After a year of successful expansion and explosive growth of our brand, we’re thrilled to bring the innovative experience we offer to more cities across the United States,” said Jonathan Benjamin, CEO of Museum of Illusions.

“Museum of Illusions is further cementing itself as the global leader in the ‘edutainment’ space. As we continue to achieve our development goals, we’re proud to bring our unconventional, unique blend of experiential retail to new destinations.”
Looking ahead, the Museum of Illusions already has lease agreements finalised with construction underway or due to begin in nine cities in North America.
In the first quarter of next year, the brand plans to open museums in Scottsdale (Arizona), Atlanta (Georgia), Denver (Colorado), Minneapolis (Minnesota), Las Vegas (Nevada), Austin (Texas) and Montreal (Canada).
In the third quarter of 2023, it is launching a museum in San Diego, California. To support these expansion plans, the Museum of Illusions is opening its second headquarters in Atlanta in early 2023.
100 locations by 2026
By 2026, the brand aims to have 100 locations open around the world. Its venues are home to unique attractions, including optical illusions, 3D holograms, mind-bending exhibits and interactive illusion rooms.
“We will invariably look for areas that are city centres where there is a lot of activity and a range of other types of entertainment facilities,” Benjamin told blooloop.
“It has to be somewhere likely to appeal to people as a destination for tourists, and for people outside the area, somewhere with conventions, hotels, and shopping.”
