Museum of Illusions will open in the Atlantic Station neighbourhood before the end of this year.

After announcing plans to open its largest location yet in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Museum of Illusions has revealed it will launch its biggest museum to date in Atlanta, Georgia.

The lease agreement for the Atlanta venue has been finalised, with the Museum of Illusions due to open in the Atlantic Station neighbourhood before the end of this year.

It will be a state-of-the-art museum, home to stimulating optical illusions, 3D holograms, mind-boggling exhibits and interactive illusion rooms.

“Museum of Illusions is an immersive, mind-bending experience and will be the perfect addition to Atlantic Station’s line-up of innovative concepts,” says Starr Cumming, retail director of specialty leasing for Hines.

“Atlantic Station is the city’s hot spot for Atlantans’ dining, shopping or entertainment desires. As we continue to seek big and bold ideas to bring to the property, we look forward to welcoming Museum of Illusions’ largest location ever later this year.”

The Museum of Illusions operates 36 locations in 24 countries, including the US, Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, China, Korea and India.

An additional 20 venues are scheduled to open soon as part of the brand’s expansion plans. At least 100 locations are planned across the globe over the next four years.

“We are beyond excited to expand our brand’s US footprint in this market,” said Jonathan Benjamin, CEO of the Museum of Illusions.

“As we continue our global expansion efforts, we are also in the process of securing new office space in Atlanta to serve as the company’s new US headquarters.”

“More details to follow soon, but in the meantime, we are thrilled that the Atlanta community has created a space for us to bring one of our most exciting museums yet to such a flourishing city,” he added.

New Jersey’s American Dream is also opening the Paradox Museum, a new attraction featuring “mind-twisting, eye-tricking experiences”.
