Launching in 2023, the new attraction will be Texas’ only racing roller coaster.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio has unveiled several new and upgraded attractions, including the world’s first single-rail racing coaster.

The new ride will also be Texas’ only racing roller coaster when it opens in 2023. It will have two trains on parallel racing and duelling tracks. Six Flags will announce the name and theme of the new coaster next year.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas “continues to invest in the guest experience and innovation”, said park president Jeffrey Siebert.

“A new first-of-its-kind family racing roller coaster and a selection of family waterslides complement new amenities and other improvements that will offer an elevated guest experience,” he added.

As well as the new coaster, the park is expanding its water park to include a new area for children with five new waterslides.

It is also enhancing some of its existing attractions. Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster will feature upgraded trains and a new operating system, while Iron Rattler is getting a third train.

Boomerang’s trains are being upgraded, as is the coaster’s braking system. The Fiesta Texas Railroad train ride is being restored.

In addition, Six Flags Fiesta Texas is opening a unique esports attraction. The innovative gaming centre will provide state-of-the-art equipment.

The park’s new Roller Coaster Coffee location will serve snacks and caffeinated beverages, and the new Coca-Cola VIP Lounge will be available to diamond pass holders and for an additional fee to other guests.

Last month, Six Flags reported a 21 percent decline in revenue driven by lower attendance in its financial results for the third quarter of 2022.

“This was a year of transition for Six Flags, as we made bold changes to our business model in order to elevate the guest experience and to position the company for sustainable, long-term earnings growth,” said Selim Bassoul, Six Flags president and CEO.
