Margaritaville at Lanier Islands’ Fins Up water park is on track to debut Georgia’s first waterslide coaster in May.
Named Apocalypso, the waterslide coaster will be the centrepiece of a new complex of four slides called Fins Up Falls.
Per a press release, significant progress has been made on the new attraction at the lakefront resort’s rebranded Fins Up water park.
The site has been cleared and the foundation laid, with the steel beams ready to be installed to secure the structure that will house the new waterslide complex.

At a steel signing ceremony last week,Ā Bucky Perry, vice president of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands, said: “Today marks a significant milestone as we celebrate Georgia’s first and largest waterslide coaster and complex, which will undoubtedly stand as the crowning jewel of Fins Up water park.
“In addition, we are continuously enhancing offerings to meet our guestsā wishes.”
First announced last year, Apocalypso will be joined by the Serpentine Storm, Dreamsicle Dive and Mango Mania waterslides. ApocalypsoĀ is being created in partnership with WhiteWater,Ā a leading waterpark manufacturer.
Fins Up Falls waterslide complex

Margaritaville at Lanier IslandsĀ is a lakefront resort inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter and authorĀ Jimmy Buffett.
Fins Up is scheduled to open on May 4.
