Dronisos, a leading drone light show specialist, in its role as Official Technology Provider for Disneyland Paris, has achieved a Guinness World Record title for the “Largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors / drones”, with a spectacular tricolour Mickey Mouse head made out of 1571 drones.
Disneyland Paris and Dronisos collaborated to create this spectacular show for the Bastille Day fireworks on July 14. It lit up the night sky over Sleeping Beauty Castle, giving guests a memorable experience.
The event, which combined state-of-the-art drone technology with dazzling pyrotechnics and lighting effects, marked a key milestone in the advancement of entertainment. Throughout the show, the crew employed over 1,630 drones, including pyro-drones, to light up the sky, creating a new standard for nighttime spectaculars.
Innovation in drone spectaculars
Bordeaux-based Dronisos worked closely with the Disneyland Paris Entertainment teams, lending its drone technology expertise to the show. Months of painstaking preparation and tireless work resulted in a show that enthralled spectators and demonstrated Dronisos’ and Disneyland Paris’ dedication to providing unforgettable moments.
Disney Electrical Sky Parade, which debuted in January 2024, is another example of this innovative spirit. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Sleeping Beauty Castle, this multi-sensory celebration amazes guests with over 500 synchronised drones, including pyro-drones. Other night-time productions that Dronisos has contributed to in the park include Disney D-Light, Avengers: Power the Night, and the record-breaking Bastille Day celebration on 14 July 2023.
Last year, Dronisos announced that it had established its first North American office. It has chosen a location in Orlando to leverage the city’s strategic location and proximity to major theme parks. Founded in Bordeaux, France, in 2016, it has rapidly established a reputation in the world of drone light shows. The firm is known for organising the largest drone display in Europe at Disneyland Paris, which included an astonishing fleet of 1,500 drones. It has also lit up iconic sites like Mont-Saint-Michel in France and the Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
