Alton Towers has shared a first full-scale look at its new Bluey-themed junior roller coaster ahead of the ride's opening this weekend.
Opening tomorrow (28 March), Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! is inspired by a fan-favourite episode of the animated TV series where Bluey and Bingo dress up as grannies named Janet and Rita.
In new images and drone footage, Alton Towers has provided a look at Bluey and Bingo riding the new coaster as Janet and Rita as it moves through Bluey's backyard and past her house, which also serves as a photo opportunity.
“This first glimpse of the ride shows what promises to be an exciting experience for the whole family – from little ones to grandparents – which bring the limitless energy of Bluey to life," said Howard Ebison, vice president of Alton Towers.
Natasha Spence, events director, live entertainment at BBC Studios, added: "We know our Bluey fans can barely contain their excitement for the new ride, and this drone footage lets us see exactly why – showcasing Bluey’s first-ever coaster at CBeebies Land at Alton Towers Resort as a child experiences it."
Alton Towers has also revealed that the queue line for Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! features nods to iconic moments from the series, including games of Keepy Uppy, fairy rings to dance in, and a Rug Island-style play space.

“We wanted families to feel like they’d stepped inside an episode,” said Merlin Magic Making designer Beth Clarke, who led the creative work on the attraction.
“Kids can play, parents can join in, and suddenly you’re all part of the story.”
Alton Towers' existing Bluey experiences include the Heeler family meet-and-greet and live stage show, and in addition to the new coaster, the park is introducing additional Bluey-themed rooms at the CBeebies Land Hotel.

Elsewhere, Bluey and Bingo have arrived at a Disney park for the first time ever with the launch of Bluey's Best Day Ever! at Disneyland in California.
