Grupo Vidanta and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group are expanding with a new water-themed resident show and dinner experience. The attraction is opening at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta in 2021.

The news comes as Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ in Riviera Maya celebrates its fifth anniversary. It remains the only Cirque du Soleil show in the world to include a culinary experience.

As for the new show and dinner experience, it will be housed in a custom-designed, world-class theatre equipped with innovative technology.

The theatre, which can seat up to 600 guests, will be located in Vidanta’s entertainment parks (Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta) currently under construction in Vallarta.

“With the launch of Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ, Grupo Vidanta forever changed the entertainment landscape of Mexico by creating the must-see and world’s only Cirque du Soleil show and dinner experience,” said Iván Chávez, executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta.

“Now, propelling forward with our multi-year operating experience, we are certain the new theater and culinary experience currently being built in Nuevo Vallarta will be an unforgettable experience for the senses that will once again present to the world a unique and unmatched tourist attraction available only in Mexico.”

As well as the theatre and show, Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta will include various acrobatic and artistic attractions, with guests able to immerse themselves in the world of Cirque du Soleil.

The new attraction will be Cirque du Soleil’s 53rd creation, and its 16th resident show. Grupo Vidanta will share more details about the new project as it evolves.

Immersive acrobatic and artistic attractions

“Throughout our unique collaboration and long-standing partnership, Cirque du Soleil and Grupo Vidanta have always shared the same vision for high-quality entertainment and captivating experiences,” said Daniel Lamarre, president and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.

“We are thrilled to embark on this second venture; it’s an opportunity to unleash our creativity within the exquisite surroundings of this new Vidanta resort.”
