Harry Potter: Magic at Play is expanding, and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour is going dark for Nox

New Harry Potter experiences are opening in the US and UK later this year, including a Halloween event at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.

The studio tour will be plunged into darkness during Nox, the new after-hours Halloween attraction. It is for fans aged 16 and older, and takes place only on 31 October.

The experience is named after Nox, the wand-extinguishing charm in the Harry Potter franchise that puts out the light at the end of wands. It serves as a counter-charm to Lumos, which lights wands.

Visitors will enjoy drinks and canapes in the Great Hall under a ceiling of 100 floating pumpkins – but Death Eaters will be lurking around every corner.

After this, they will take a tour through the darkened attraction, enjoy spooky sweet treats, enter the Forbidden Forest and head to one of the pop-up food stations before having an immersive encounter with Lord Voldemort’s supporters.

Elsewhere, the Harry Potter: Magic at Play touring experience is to make its West Coast debut on 10 November at Bellevue in the Seattle area.

Created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and Original X Productions, the experience offers magical games and interactive activities.

Stacy Moscatelli, CEO of Original X Productions, said: “Following our global debut in Chicago, we are excited for Harry Potter: Magic at Play to make the Seattle area its second-ever home and we can’t wait to invite fans of all ages to experience the Wizarding World franchise in a new and exciting way.

“Our guests will have a hands-on adventure all their own, from the Hogwarts Boathouse to tossing quaffles and searching the Forbidden Forest.”

The journey begins at 4 Privet Drive. Guests will explore the Dursleys living room, cross the Great Lake to Hogwarts, and take some of the school’s most popular classes.

Visitors will master Wingardium Leviosa and levitate a feather in Charms, discover the Potions dungeon using their senses, and take on a swarm of Cornish Pixies in Defence Against the Dark Arts.

At Magic at Play, guests will also practice Quidditch fundamentals, visit Hagrid’s pumpkin patch and go across the Forbidden Forest.
