Katapult, the international guest experience design agency, and Aardman, the award-winning UK studio, have announced that they will reveal a brand new themed attraction concept at the upcoming IAAPA Expo Asia in Singapore, featuring the studio’s much-loved characters.
A hands-on, entertaining visitor attraction concept, The World of Aardman seeks to unleash the creative potential of each visitor. The turnkey concept includes an interactive studio experience, as well as a themed cafe, immersive retail, and photo ops with the guests’ favourite characters.
The attraction was created to suit pre-existing retail mall units and indoor destinations. It can also showcase exclusive seasonal events and product releases and tie in with marketing initiatives across Aardman’s studio schedule.
A unique and authentic Aardman experience
“We’re delighted to bring to market a truly unique and authentic Aardman experience, alongside Katapult,” says Aardman’s head of attractions & live experiences, Ngaio Harding-Hill. “From Shaun the Sheep to Wallace and Gromit, our characters are globally recognised and beloved. The opportunity to bring our fans closer to their favourite IPs is what we want to achieve with this visitor attraction.
“We are really excited to be launching ‘The World of Aardman’ in Singapore at IAAPA Expo Asia, where we will also be sharing more insights with delegates on the design and operations of the attraction.”
Co-founder and CEO of Katapult, Dawn Foote, adds: “It’s been a pleasure to both collaborate and create this exciting project with Aardman. We both share the ambition to inspire people through creativity and Ngaio and myself welcome conversations with interested parties during the Expo in June.”
The two firms will be exhibiting at the Experience UK booth, #L653, during the trade show, which takes place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 14 – 16 June.
Earlier this month, Katapult announced that it has completed a new experience for The LEGO Group and Merlin Entertainments. After a successful introduction at the Brussels location, the new LEGO Creative Club will feature in all future LEGO Discovery Centre openings.
In March, Aardman revealed a new partnership with SGA Productions and a plan to launch a brand new Wallace & Gromit live show for P&O Cruises’ newest ship, Arvia.
