Disney World has announced an opening date for its new Muppets-themed Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The reimagined ride, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, is replacing the park's former Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and opens on 26 May.

During the high-speed ride experience, guests will take a trip across Hollywood as they search for Muppet rock group The Electric Mayhem.

Via a new Disney blog post, the journey begins at the iconic G-Force Records recording studio, with visitors welcomed inside as VIPs.

There, guests will find The Electric Mayhem playing Can You Picture That? as they rehearse for a big concert, as well as the first-ever audio-animatronic figure of Scooter and his penguin audio engineers.

Featuring the newest technological advancements from Muppets Labs, riders will then board a super-powered vehicle in the alleyway behind Studio C known as the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.).

As for the on-ride music, the set list is as follows:

  • Song 2 – The Electric Mayhem
  • Born To Be Wild – The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken
  • Love Rollercoaster – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
  • Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
  • Walking on Sunshine – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson

Also launching at Disney's Hollywood Studios on 26 May is the new Walt Disney Studios courtyard, complete with Mickey Mouse's iconic sorcerer's hat.

This will be followed by the updated area's new Magic of Disney Animation attraction in late summer.
