Autonomous vehicles will be at Area15 from August

Robotaxis are coming to Area15 in Las Vegas, as the immersive entertainment district has partnered with autonomous vehicle company Zoox.

Zoox will have a dedicated pickup and drop-off location at Area15, providing a new transportation option for visitors when the site’s expansion opens in August.

“As the world’s first immersive art, entertainment, and live events destination, Area15 embraces technological innovation and prioritizes the guest experience,” said Mark Stutzman, chief operating officer of Area15.

The expansion of Area15 will “drive more visitors than ever to the Area15 district”, said Stutzman.

“With this increased demand, smart and efficient transit options like Zoox will ensure our guests’ experience is seamless and enjoyable from start to finish,” he added.

Area15 is one of several destinations set to be serviced by Zoox, including Resorts World Las Vegas.

“Future of transportation” at Area15

Area15 has become a must-see entertainment destination with its imaginative, mind-bending exhibits that ignite wonder and transform reality for visitors. It offers an experience where everyone can choose their own journey,” said Michael White, chief product officer at Zoox.

“In a perfect convergence, Zoox’s purpose-built robotaxi – with its futuristic shape and panoramic views – extends this feeling for visitors beyond the venue.”

He added, “From the moment guests step into our robotaxi, they’re immersed in the future of transportation, with the freedom to focus on their next adventure rather than the road ahead.”

The first attraction to open as part of the Area15 expansion is Universal Horror Unleashed, which debuts on 14 August.

Through the end of 2025 and into 2026, Area15 will launch other experiences, including a multi-use venue in a transformed Boeing 747, the largest-ever Museum of Ice Cream, and Interstellar Arc by Felix & Paul Studios, a leader and pioneer in creating and producing virtual, augmented, and mixed-reality experiences.
