Meow Wolf announces sixth permanent immersive art venue will be in Los Angeles

Meow Wolf Los Angeles

Experiential immersive art collective Meow Wolf has revealed that its sixth permanent venue will be located in Los Angeles, California.

As seen in the documentary Origin Story, Meow Wolf started out as a do-it-yourself group of Santa Fe artists who transformed trash into immersive art environments. Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin assisted in the creation of Meow Wolf’s first enormously popular permanent installation, House of Eternal Return. The collective then went on to create interactive worlds in Las Vegas, Denver, and Dallas, with another venue opening in Houston shortly.

A love letter to the city

‍”Los Angeles expands in all directions, not just physically but culturally,” says Meow Wolf’s latest press release. “It’s a city that doesn’t follow; it often leads sometimes, even racing ahead of itself. This frenetic creativity, daringness to dream, sprawling magnitude, and futuristic view is exactly why Meow Wolf has chosen Los Angeles as the home for its next dream factory.”

This new Meow Wolf location will be more than just an art museum; it will embody the collective’s signature maximalist fantasy style with a distinctly Angeleno twist. Think cinematic grandeur, enigmatic Easter Eggs, the forgotten side of Hollywood, glamorous glitz, and new connections to the existing Meow Wolf worlds in other cities.

Meow Wolf is a Certified B Corporation that collaborates with regional artists in each of its locations to produce a work of art that is a tribute to the city. “Expect a full sensory love letter to the Los Angeles art scene, its history, and its legacy,” adds Meow Wolf.

More information will be released in the coming months.

Recently, Meow Wolf unveiled some of the artists and creators behind its fifth permanent installation in Houston, Texas. Alongside its in-house team of artists, a group of more than 40 contributing artists from Texas are creating the new site in Houston’s historic Fifth Ward.
