Lumotion, a creative production studio specialising in immersive experiences, has shared details of its newest interactive playground installations, including interactive drawing avatars, a flying zone, and a throwing game.
These experiences merge creativity, physical activity, and immersive visuals to turn any space into a playground for the imagination.
Inspiring creativity
With the Interactive Avatar Drawings installation, kids can see their creations come to life.
Children are invited to colour one of several preset characters, such as fish, birds, robots, or animals, at digital drawing stations. Then, in a single tap, they can send their finished artwork to a large projection screen.
Almost instantly, their hand-drawn characters appear on screen, where they move and interact. Characters might swim through coral reefs, fly through clouds, or take a walk in a fantasy landscape.

This creates a joyful moment of recognition as the children's own artwork becomes animated and part of the digital story.
The installation is loved by visitors for its excitement, and venues for its simplicity and versatility. Interactive Avatar Drawings can be themed, branded, and installed in just a few weeks.
"It’s where art, play, and technology come together to inspire imagination,” says Lumotion.
"Children don’t just watch content, they create it."
Gamified active play
The Interactive Running Zone turns dreams of flying into reality.
This installation uses motion tracking to turn children into running characters, moving their bodies to explore a vibrant digital environment.
Participants flap their arms to ascend, lean to turn, jump to collect points, and see their avatar respond instantly on-screen.

Sessions are different every time, with challenges and rewards that encourage children to replay, compete, and improve.
At five to 10 square metres, the attraction’s compact size is suitable for shopping centres, museums, or family entertainment centres. Parents value the safe, physical play, while venues benefit from increased dwell time and visitor satisfaction.
"Gamified play keeps children active while fueling their curiosity. It’s fun, but it’s also about learning coordination, focus, and self-expression," says Lumotion.
High-energy fun
The Interactive Targets Zone brings high-energy physical activity together with immersive animation.
Here, kids throw soft balls at a projection wall covered with moving digital targets. Each successful throw triggers colourful explosions, sound effects, and animation, in a rewarding gameplay loop that keeps players coming back for more.

This dynamic yet straightforward setup turns a standard ball game into a collaborative digital challenge.
Whether used for short-term events or installed permanently in a kids’ area, Interactive Targets Zone brings energy, teamwork, and fun to any environment.
Power of play
Lumotion Studio’s installations are all based on the same underlying philosophy: technology should empower creativity, not replace it.
By combining digital art, gamification, and motion technology, every project embodies the studio’s belief that play is a powerful way to learn and that immersive technologies can foster joy, creativity, connection, and imagination.
The ready-to-install systems can be set up within one to two weeks, customised with branded themes, and adapted to any layout.
Operators benefit from enhanced family engagement and visitor flow, extended dwell time and repeat visits, compact formats with simple setup, and a “wow” effect with social media appeal.
From shopping malls to museums, these interactive experiences reimagine what it means to play, learn, and explore.

Lumotion’s installations are expanding across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, demonstrating the success of this philosophy for children's entertainment and experience design.
Last month, Lumotion shared how it turns light into feeling with projection mapping.
