Walt Disney Imagineering has unveiled a scale model of Piston Peak National Park, Magic Kingdom's new Cars-themed area, at Disney's D23 fan event.
On view in the 'Imagineering: Horizons' pavilion, the 19-by-19-foot model of Piston Peak National Park offers a new look at the Cars-themed area coming to Magic Kingdom's Frontierland.
Inspired by national parks in America's Rocky Mountains and the history and sights of the American frontier, the new zone in Frontierland contains two new Cars attractions.
In the Imagineering pavilion at D23, guests can explore highlights from projects at Disney's theme parks around the world, including painted maquettes of "monster-fied critters" designed for Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Also at D23's Imagineering pavilion is a new look inside the upcoming Encanto attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom, including audio-animatronic figures that will appear in one scene.
A model of the Avengers Pavilion exterior for the new attraction coming to Hong Kong Disneyland is on display in the pavilion.
Also, the pavilion features Tokyo Disneyland's new Space Mountain design model, a ride vehicle maquette, and a scale model of the attraction’s new plaza icon.
Disney parks projects at D23
As for Disneyland Paris' projects, the pavilion is home to a black light study model of the new Lion King attraction at Disney Adventure World, as well as a ride vehicle maquette and a Rafiki's Tree scale model.
Disneyland's projects on view at D23 include a rendering and sculpt of Hector for the new Coco attraction at Disney California Adventure, as well as an Avengers Campus expansion model and a ride vehicle maquette for Stark Flight Lab.
The pavilion also includes a look at the upcoming Avatar land at Disneyland, including a rockwork model and a ride vehicle model.
D23 is running from 14 August through 16 August in Anaheim, California.
