Moon World Resorts' vision for moon-shaped experiential destinations is moving forwards, with the project now progressing from concept into the design and engineering stages.

The company has selected consulting engineering firm Entuitive to support the development of the spherical resorts from design through construction.

The proposed Moon sites are described as the world's most innovative experiential destinations, and are planned for North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and Africa.

They will integrate hospitality, entertainment, wellness, education, technology, attractions, space training, Earth-based space tourism and more.

"Entuitive is thrilled to be working with Moon World Resorts on this groundbreaking development that will redefine hospitality industry standards," said Barry Charnish, founding principal at Entuitive.

"It's been a great honour to witness the development of the vision of Moon and now quite exciting to kick off this global initiative.

"Moon's signature true sphere and the surrounding 556-acre masterplan are the types of projects that fuel an engineer’s desire to keep designing and creating to push the limits of the built environment."

Sandra G. Matthews, co-founder and president of Moon World Resorts, said: "Barry has supported Moon World Resorts, the vision behind Moon, since inception."

Lead architects for Moon resorts

"Entuitive delivers the structural discipline and building envelope expertise a project of Moon's scale and ambition demands," she added.

"Barry's decades of tall building leadership provides absolute confidence in the entire engineering foundation footprint."

In addition, Moon World Resorts has appointed Toronto-based firm BDP Quadrangle as lead architects across its planned Moon resorts.

"A project of this scale cannot be the product of a single discipline working in isolation; it requires architects, engineers, and specialists working as equals toward a shared vision," said Matthews.
