United Parks & Resorts has announced major IP experiences for Halloween at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In a bid to boost its Howl-O-Scream events, United Parks & Resorts has unveiled two horror IPs for this year's events – I Know What You Did Last Summer and Anaconda.
Based on the 1997 slasher movie licensed by Sony Pictures, 'I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch' is a new haunted house at SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Diego, and SeaWorld San Antonio.
Like the film, it tells the story of a group of friends who attempt to hide a fatal accident, with SeaWorld guests able to explore horrifying recreations of several movie scenes.
"We're always looking for new ways to raise the bar on immersive entertainment, and bringing I Know What You Did Last Summer to our Howl-O-Scream events is an exciting milestone for all three SeaWorld parks," said Marc Swanson, CEO of United Parks & Resorts.
"This thrilling franchise has captivated horror fans for years with its suspense and terror. Now our guests will step into that world, facing some of the same heart-pounding moments that made the film come alive."
As for Sony Pictures' 1997 film Anaconda, this is being transformed into a new haunted house at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
The experience at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is called 'Anaconda: Fear Has No Escape', while Busch Gardens Williamsburg will offer the 'Anaconda: Dead on Arrival' haunted house.
"Our fans are always looking for new and immersive scares and bringing Anaconda to our Howl-O-Scream event elevates the experience at both Busch Gardens parks," said Swanson.
"The addition of Anaconda, combined with all-new haunts and entertainment, will solidify Howl-O-Scream's spot as one of the nation's top Halloween events."
The new I Know What You Did Last Summer and Anaconda houses will debut on 11 September at all parks.
