Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey is expanding its Halloween event for 2026 with the return of Fright Fest Thursdays.
Starting this week, Fright Fest will take over the park on four consecutive Thursday nights – 8, 15, 22 and 29 October.
This will give guests an additional night of scare zones, haunted attractions, live entertainment and coaster rides after dark.
As an added benefit, season passholders can bring a friend for free on select Fright Fest Thursdays, with the promotion extending to 5 November.

"Fright Fest is one of the most anticipated events of the year, and adding Thursday nights gives guests even more opportunities to experience everything they love about Halloween at Great Adventure," said Ryan Eldredge, director of sales and marketing at Six Flags Great Adventure.
"Whether you're tackling haunted attractions, enjoying your favorite coasters after dark or bringing a friend to experience Fright Fest for the first time, Thursday nights are the perfect way to kick off a fall weekend."
The Halloween season has become big business in the attractions industry, with operators significantly increasing investment in their events to draw crowds and boost profits.
Driving seasonal profits
As well as adding more dates to their Halloween happenings, parks and other attractions are turning to major brands, themed food and merchandise, and extreme experiences.
This year, Six Flags is providing an unprecedented lineup of horror IPs for its Halloween events, including new franchises such as Final Destination and The Blair Witch Project.
Coast to coast, Six Flags theme parks are offering a total of 448 Halloween-themed experiences at the Fright Fest, Halloween Haunt, HalloWeekends, SCarowinds, Knott's Scary Farm, and Festival del Terror events.
