New venue is able to thrive during pandemic thanks to integrated contactless system

Embed, a leading worldwide supplier of point-of-sale and revenue management systems, has provided its integrated cashless solutions to Planet Royale, a brand new multi-venue entertainment hub in Perth, Australia, which opened to the public this August.

The operators, Ray Strauss and Sasha Fagan, have created a pop-culture-themed venue that covers two storeys, featuring an old-school arcade bar, Barcadia, complete with vintage games such as pinball, as well as more contemporary offerings. The pair engaged Embed to help them kick start the venture in the wake of COVID-19.

Greater operational efficiency

Thanks to a range of solutions from Embed, including a POS machine, a self-service kiosk and 70 award-winning smartTOUCH arcade debit game card readers, the attraction is able to achieve greater operational efficiency, as well as cutting costs and boosting revenue.

“Opening an entertainment venue in the pandemic has been tough. We have had a few curve balls thrown our way, but we have managed to navigate our way through them,” says Fagan.

“We’re able to launch on time and focus on other business matters since Embed takes the pressure off us by providing such reliable systems,” adds Strauss. “When we were given a one-day notice of a soft opening, they came online immediately on a weekend and worked hard to get our systems operational for the opening. If not for Embed’s help, we would not have had the very successful opening we had.”

“Having contactless and cashless systems in our venue makes our guests feel safe, and we’re grateful to Embed for making this possible for us. Their solutions keep our customers in the zone, and we’re very happy with the turnout of our first month.”

With the cashless and contactless business system in place, guests can enjoy a safe and fun experience.

“Our ‘customer first’ approach focuses on solutions that enable the optimum guest experience, and it’s the driver behind our development efforts because when the customer thrives, the operators thrive! Helping our customers lower their operating costs while driving higher profit and achieving their business goals is the core of everything we do at Embed,” says Renee Welsh, CEO, Solutions Group.

Embed celebrated its 20th-anniversary in August, with a virtual gallery of innovation and the extension of its free Mobile Wallet offer. It has also launched some limited edition anniversary-themed game cards.
