Six Flags New England has opened Quantum Accelerator, the first dual-launch straddle coaster in the region.

As above, the park's 12th roller coaster features two launches, as well as straddle seating, high-speed turnarounds, a 90-degree overbanked turn, a Stengel dive, and an airtime hill.

Located in Crackaxle Canyon, the new ride features a steampunk design, with guests riding on hover bikes with handlebars.

It boasts a top speed of 45 mph, a maximum height of 59 feet, and a track length of 2,604 feet.

"Quantum Accelerator is an exciting new addition that raises the bar for family thrill rides at Six Flags New England," said Bill Falzone, park manager.

"It's the perfect complement to our world-class lineup and reinforces Six Flags New England as the go-to destination for family fun in 2026"

As well as launching the new coaster, Six Flags New England has enhanced the Crackaxle Canyon area, including new retail offerings in Screamore Gadgets and new menu items at JB's Smokehouse.
