Safari Thatch to showcase expanded capabilities & new modular VIP cabanas at IAAPA Expo 2025

Safari Thatch, a leading supplier of thatch, bamboo, and other tropically themed architectural materials, will exhibit at IAAPA Expo 2025 in Orlando, taking place from 17 - 21 November.

At booth #1366, the team will present a range of new features, expanded materials, and design innovations. Known for its extensive selection of themed architecture, resort construction, and natural materials, the company will emphasise how it is continuously evolving to cater to the demands of modern hospitality and attractions markets.

Expanded capabilities

Safari Thatch has recently expanded its US operations by adding advanced large-scale CNC routing and millwork technology. These upgrades enhance the team’s ability to produce architectural components for resorts, attractions, and themed environments with increased flexibility and precision.

From custom millwork and façades to complete structural systems, the new equipment enables faster production, greater efficiency, and consistency.

“Our CNC technology has changed what we can offer our clients,” says a Safari Thatch representative. “We’re able to turn creative concepts into finished production pieces with outstanding accuracy and speed. It gives us more control over quality and design than ever before.”

This investment enhances Safari’s capacity to handle every stage of a project internally, from design and engineering to fabrication and installation.

Design meets engineering

Safari Thatch has broadened its product range to include hardwood timber, decking, tongue and groove paneling, flooring, stair treads, and custom millwork. These additions complement its existing selection of natural and synthetic thatch roofing, bamboo, eucalyptus, other timbers, fencing, screening, and decorative wall and ceiling treatments.

“Our hardwood line gives designers and developers the ability to combine beauty with performance,” the representative adds. “These materials are ideal for high-humidity and coastal environments where durability matters as much as appearance.”

With the new range, Safari Thatch can supply complete material packages for interior and exterior projects, giving clients more design options and simplifying the sourcing process.

Heart-shaped overwater bungalows extend from a tropical beach into the ocean.

Safari Thatch’s sister company, Safari Construction, consistently executes top-tier residential, resort, and hospitality projects across the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

Its work blends Safari Thatch’s renowned craftsmanship and aesthetic with contemporary construction techniques tailored for tropical environments. Having worked in logistically complex and remote locations for years, the company now focuses on, but is not limited to, island construction.

“Our work in the Caribbean shows what’s possible when design and engineering come together,” the company said. “We build structures that are beautiful, functional, and strong enough to handle the region’s demanding conditions.”

Meet the team at IAAPA Expo

A key feature of Safari Thatch’s display at IAAPA Expo 2025 will be its modular VIP cabana system, designed to “Elevate Your Escape.”

These commercial-grade, modular cabanas are crafted for operators aiming to provide luxurious guest spaces that are durable, customisable, and easy to maintain. Each cabana is constructed to withstand hurricane zones and harsh coastal environments, making them perfect for resorts, waterparks, and entertainment venues.

Each structure is fully modular and customisable, with 12 colour options, flexible layouts, and a variety of accessory packages.

The system is designed for near-zero maintenance, using materials that resist corrosion, fading, and wear. Cabanas are warrantied for long-term performance and built to generate revenue through premium guest rentals.

“The modular VIP cabana brings together everything our clients ask for: durability, elegance, and efficiency,” says the company.

“They are quick to install, easy to maintain, and built to last. It’s a turnkey solution for operators who want a product that looks beautiful and performs in the toughest conditions.”

To meet increasing demand from resorts and attractions worldwide, Safari Thatch has expanded its production capacity and logistics network. The company can now manage larger projects and tighter schedules while retaining the handcrafted quality that has established its reputation for decades.

“Every project we take on is about creating a sense of place,” says the company’s CEO, Nick Wight. “Whether it’s a resort pavilion, a themed bar, or one of our modular cabana systems, our focus is always on authenticity, longevity, and craftsmanship.”
