Shanghai Disney Resort is introducing a fourth themed hotel, and expanding its retail, dining and entertainment district.
The hotel is being built adjacent to the entrance to Shanghai Disneyland, and the new development plan also includes new shopping and dining experiences.
A major expansion is already underway across the resort, including the development of a third themed hotel and a ninth themed land.
Shanghai Disneyland has announced its latest projects as it celebrates welcoming its 100 millionth guest since opening in 2016.
"Guest experience is at the heart of everything we do," said Andrew Bolstein, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort.
"By blending creativity, innovation and storytelling, we continue to design and deliver new, unique experiences in true Disney style."
He added: "The new hotel will become another important touchpoint of our holistic resort offering, and with the additional shopping and dining experiences, we will provide our guests with a vibrant, comprehensive vacation experience with even more dynamic options."
Shopping and dining expansion at Shanghai Disney Resort
The hotel expansion will transform the area next to the main entrance of Shanghai Disneyland, making it the closest hotel to the park.
According to a press release, it will be "a premium destination infused with Disney stories and imagination".
The property will feature "unprecedented immersive storytelling experiences in a way that Disney uniquely brings to life".
The resort's third themed hotel, a nine-floor deluxe property, is currently under construction on the south side of the park's Wishing Star Lake.
Designed an decorated in the Art Nouveau style, the hotel is now undergoing the interior fit-out and façade installation.
When completed, it will feature rooms with spectacular views of Shanghai Disneyland, and new recreational amenities and activities.
Shanghai Disneyland recently started installing its first major Marvel attraction at its ninth themed land, which is inspired by Spider-Man.
