Silver Dollar City, the 1880s theme park in the Ozarks, is celebrating the "crowning" of its first hotel.

The park has officially "crowned" its new property, lifting the final rooftop beacon into place on the Silver Dollar City Resort.

Due to open in 2027, the 262-room hotel is the first project in Silver Dollar City's $500 million, 10-year development plan.

Located close to the theme park, the Silver Dollar City Resort will offer sweeping views of the Ozark mountains and Table Rock Lake, and a reception area inspired by the park's Marvel Cave.

It will also include indoor and outdoor pools, a full-service restaurant, 17,000 square feet of meeting space, and a backyard with fire pits, hidden grottos and meandering trails.

Highlights in the resort include a hands-on family room filled with interesting artefacts and maps for studying, as well as the delivery of Silver Dollar City's iconic cinnamon bread straight to guests’ rooms.

"This resort reflects Herschend’s belief in Silver Dollar City and the continued growth of tourism in the Ozarks," said Brad Thomas, president of Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts.

"Set among the beauty of the Ozarks, this resort will help grow visitation to Silver Dollar City and the Table Rock Lake region for years to come," he added.

Operated by Herschend, Silver Dollar City features rides and attractions, live entertainment and world-class festivals.

"The moment families arrive at the Silver Dollar City Resort, we want them to feel like they’ve stepped into their own Ozarks home," said Merrill Puckett Miller, chief creative officer for Herschend.

"Inspired by Silver Dollar City and the surrounding Ozarks’ beauty, the design creates warm, welcoming places for families to gather, unwind and make memories together."

Under its $500m investment plan, Silver Dollar City will transform 1,200 acres adjacent to the theme park.
