Alterface celebrates success first Moviemax

Interactive attraction for travelling fairs and events is easy to move and quick to set up

Alterface, a leader in interactive technology, is celebrating the success of the first Moviemax. Driven by Alterface interactive technologies, this new attraction transforms guest experiences at fairs and travelling events with its compact and portable design.

Stéphane Battaille, CEO of Alterface, says: “Conceived and designed by seasoned showman Léo Verstiggel to meet the unique requirements of traveling fairs, Moviemax showcases our teams’ ability to tailor entertainment solutions for varied client demands.

“Compact, transportable, offering unique theming, interactive action, feature content suitable for all ages and a competitive initial price point, Moviemax sets a new standard for a unique and successful traveling attraction.”

New experience for the market segment

The first Moviemax interactive screen adventure launched in late June at Azur Park in St. Tropez and enjoyed a highly successful first summer season.

Verstiggel shares his enthusiasm for the attraction: “Collaborating with Alterface was a wonderful experience,” he says. “Their interactive technology brought my vision for a vintage cinema carousel to life. Together, we created an attraction that honors my family’s legacy and brings highly interactive entertainment to fairs and events.”

Inspired by four generations of entertainers, Verstiggel’s innovative concept fits inside a 40-foot container easily moved by road, rail, and sea. In less than three hours, it turns into a fully themed, 90-square-metre set, and includes a queuing line, ticketing, a photo booth, classic light bulbs, iconic marquee signs, and motion-based seats that can accommodate thirteen guests at once.

The attraction is designed to draw audiences and generate revenue, while its quick setup and low operator requirements result in reduced operating expenses.

With four films available on Moviemax, Popcorn Revenge, Desperados Cowboy, Dinosaurland, and Zombie Attack!!!, the attraction caters to a broad demographic of visitors, including teens, families, and small children. The movies use Alterface technology with special effects such as wind, water, stroboscopes, smoke, and motion, to immerse viewers in a 3D and interactive experience that has never been available at fairs or travelling events before.

Battaille concludes: “Whether interested in acquiring a Moviemax for your show or desiring a bespoke attraction of your own design, Alterface is ready to meet your needs. Our successful projects are entertaining people in new and exciting ways the world over. Equally important, attractions like Moviemax are meeting a wide range of operator needs and demands. Give us a call. We’d love to chat.”

Alterface recently shared details of its project for Merlin Entertainments to develop the new Cadbury Chocolate Quest ride at Cadbury World in the UK. The new ride takes aspiring chocolatiers on a fun journey to find the ingredients needed to make a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar.
