News
Electrosonic Nico Åhlström

Electrosonic, a leading international audiovisual and technology services company, has announced the promotion of Nico Åhlström to chief financial and operating officer.

Formerly chief financial officer, Åhlström will now hold broader strategic operational responsibilities, building on his previous leadership experience with the company.

Strategic expansion & service excellence

Åhlström will collaborate with Ewan Smith, chief executive officer, to manage a portfolio of operational responsibilities focusing on strategic planning, service delivery, financial planning, process optimisation, and technology planning and vision.

As chief financial and operating officer, he will also oversee the service department and play an important role in ensuring that Electrosonic’s capabilities can fulfil client needs both now and in the future. Åhlström will bolster the service organisation and partner closely with clients to understand their aims, forge lasting collaborations, and help them to optimise ROI from their AV and experiential technology environments.

“I’m excited about taking on these new responsibilities and working with Ewan to further our strategic plan. I’ve always enjoyed working with the global leadership team, our passionate employees and clients around the globe,” says Åhlström. “Electrosonic is committed to accelerating our journey of continuous improvement to deliver even greater value and outcomes for our clients.”

Åhlström rejoined Electrosonic in 2023 as CFO. From 2016 until 2022, he held a number of key positions, including vice president of business transformation. His previous experience includes roles at Deloitte and managing a portfolio of operating companies with a family. He is a highly qualified executive and was awarded a Master’s Degree in accounting and finance and private law.

Smith says: “I will continue to work with Nico on the evolution of our business. He demonstrates outstanding leadership in our business and his strong acumen for strategic planning together with his wide-ranging skills and experience will be invaluable as we continue the momentum of change so that we can offer our clients the best possible experience.”

Electrosonic recently provided AV integration for the New Jersey Hall of Fame Entertainment and Learning Center (NJHOF ELC) at American Dream. This 10,000-square-foot attraction features memorabilia and immersive interactive experiences that capture the energy and dedication of the featured New Jersey icons.
