Manchester City enhances its award-winning stadium tour

Manchester City has become the first football club in the Premier League to offer a virtual reality (VR) experience as part of its award-winning stadium tour.

Titled Beyond the Blue Moon, the immersive experience takes guests on a nostalgic adventure using cutting-edge technology.

Highlights include travelling through various Manchester City-themed worlds, flying around a futuristic Etihad Stadium, and holding a trophy in front of a crowd of cheering fans.

Additionally, visitors can explore the club’s history, from legendary players to iconic goals.

Per a press release, the VR experience is the latest example of Manchester City’s investments in technology to make the stadium tour more immersive and unique.

Danny Wilson, managing director of Manchester City operations, said: “The launch of our first-of-its-kind virtual reality experience marks an exciting evolution of the Manchester City Stadium Tour, offering fans and visitors an entirely new way to connect with the Club through immersive, cutting-edge technology.”

He added, “Beyond the Blue Moon reflects our broader commitment to embracing innovation and reimagining traditional experiences, which is something we will continue to focus on as we prepare to open our new Manchester City Museum next year following the completion of our entertainment destination at the Etihad Campus.”

As above, the club is expanding the Etihad Stadium’s capacity and adding a new fan zone, club shop, 400-bed hotel, and museum.

Upon completion, the new North Stand will provide a year-round entertainment destination for Manchester City fans.

In November, Manchester City announced the installation of a new steel structure to the existing North Stand, marking a major construction milestone.

Elsewhere, a new museum dedicated to football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has opened in Hong Kong.
