Design studio flora&faunavisions is set to tour a new immersive experience where guests can co-create their own ‘Utopian Garden’.

Currently open in Tacoma, Washington, the pop-up attraction is called Utopian Garden and takes guests on a colourful, story-based trip through digital art, soundscapes and gamified elements.

Utopian Garden invites visitors to embrace the hopeful, playful aspects of our connection with nature,” said Leigh Sachwitz, founder and CEO of flora&faunavisions.

“We want to highlight imagination and inspiration, giving participants the opportunity to reconnect with the natural world and each other by exploring the concept of utopia.”

During the experience, guests follow a three-part storyline and actively build their journey. They interact with digital projections, huge screens and visual scenes.

Utopian Garden is available in Tacoma until 30 June, hosted at the Tacoma Armory by Tacoma Arts Live. After its run in Washington, there are plans for it to tour the world.

Per a press release, Utopian Garden explores how science, nature and art can come together to create an imagined digital paradise.

The science chapter highlights curiosity and exploration. Visitors can create and play with interactive ‘supershape’ elements based on mathematical and scientific formulae.

The nature chapter looks at the essential resources our planet provides. Guests can feed and care for their plants, which are used to create their own gardens.

In the artificial intelligence-driven art chapter, guests can manipulate and reconstruct shapes and plants as they build their gardens.

After the show, guests head to a workshop space for activities including making leaf rubbings and creating ‘seed bombs’.

“Utopian Garden sparks the imagination and helps build a collective vision toward utopia, a place of hope, health, and happiness. Tacoma Arts Live encourages everyone to play, dream, and let go,” said David Fischer, executive director of Tacoma Arts Live.
