project syntropy VIOSO acquires domeprojection

Deal enhances the positions of both firms as leading providers of auto-alignment solutions

project: syntropy, creator of technology and display solutions for dome cinemas and immersive attractions, has announced that its sister company, domeprojection.com GmbH, has been acquired by VIOSO GmbH, a worldwide supplier of automated alignment solutions for complex projection and visual systems.

VIOSO has acquired 100% of the shares for domeprojection in a deal which enhances the positions of both firms as leading providers of auto-alignment solutions. This acquisition will present new opportunities for the AV and Simulation sectors for system integrators across the world.

The initial results of this acquisition will be seen at the I/ITSEC 2023 conference next week, where VIOSO will be exhibiting with domeprojection at booth #2164.

Comprehensive auto-alignment technologies

domeprojection will continue to operate as an independent brand under the name “domeprojection – a VIOSO simulation company”, led by existing managing director, Christian Steinmann. Steinmann will also become a VIOSO shareholder.

Benjamin Fritsch, managing director of VIOSO GmbH, comments: “This acquisition is a major milestone in our company’s history, with the competition becoming partners in the best sense. VIOSO’s overall expertise in the AV market and the massive growth in simulation market perfectly aligns with domeprojection’s competence and reputation in the simulation branch. This is a unique alliance with a grand vision and incredible possibilities for our customers.”

The Magdeburg location and domeprojection team are going to remain unaltered. domeprojection’s advanced technologies will be combined with VIOSO’s established simulation technologies and infrastructures, resulting in the industry’s most comprehensive provider of auto-alignment technologies. This features ground-breaking software and hardware solutions customised to the simulation and AV application sectors, such as dome projections, spherical displays, and sophisticated projection mappings.

The acquisition will also facilitate VIOSO’s global expansion, particularly in the US, where the business intends to create dedicated offices.

Raul Vandenberg, VIOSO chief sales officer, says: “VIOSO’s AV business, which has completed thousands of projects in the AV and media server sector in the last few years, will also benefit from new opportunities, including solutions for XR installations and LED screens.”

Steinmann adds: “This union represents a win-win situation for our two companies. We are thrilled to be part of the VIOSO family and confident that this partnership will further enhance our innovation capabilities.”

The VIOSO Group will be represented by VIOSO and domeprojection at I/ITSEC, the world’s biggest modelling, simulation, and training show, in Orlando from 27 November to 1 December. Attendees can meet with the team at booth #2164 to discover more about the simulation solutions offered by both firms, including VIOSO 6 SIM and domeprojection’s ProjectionTools Pro SIM. An immersive Panadome setup will be used to demonstrate the software capabilities.

Earlier this year, project: syntropy provided a turnkey visual display system for the ISTAR flight simulator at German Aerospace Centre. The firm worked with the DLR Institute of Flight Systems to deliver the solution for the fixed-base flight simulator at the Air Vehicle Simulator (AVES) Simulation Center, part of the DLR Flight Dynamics and Simulation Department in Braunschweig Airport, Germany.
