The “Olympic Legacy” session will addresses the legacy of London 2012 and its influence on leisure venues. It will give key statistics on Olympic volumes & attendance; short-term & long-term impact on attractions; lessons for other Olympic locations; and East End Renaissance. Speakers: James Bulley, former Director of Venues and Infrastructure at LOCOG; Danny Price, Head of Emirates Airline; and Lesley Morisetti, , Director, Morisetti Associates.

The “Make it Personal, Make it Real” session is about the emerging trend of ‘real’ experiences and human interaction in leisure attractions and museums. Designers increasingly are being briefed to include greater space for personal interaction between visitors and the content; to include interactivity (both human & technological) as a storytelling layer in the interpretation/entertainment mix. Speakers: Peter Karn, Design Director, MET Studio Design Ltd; Sarah Punshon, Curator, Darwin Centre Arts Events Programme, Natural History Museum London; Blair Parkin & Damian Andrews, Visual Acuity; and Juliana Delaney, CEO, Continuum Group.

There will be a Special Presentation by Ben Morris, Managing Director, Vector Foiltec Ltd on designing sustainable, world-class structures for the leisure industry.

A glimpse of the magic that created the Olympics – apart from the artists and the artistic direction, the basis of the successful celebrations was the talent of designers and technologists to deliver Olympic scale enjoyment and wonderment to the individual in the audience all the way to the viewer on the other side of the world. Speakers: Jessica Allan, Sales Manager Concert Touring, TAIT on Landscape Video (including 70, 500 pixel tablets) at London 2012 Ceremonies; Roland Hemming, manager for all audio except Ceremonies for the London 2012 Olympic Games; Adam Wildi on the issues surrounding his responsibilities as Arena Group Project Director for the London Olympic Infrastructure on Horseguards and the Mall.

Opportunities from large scale cultural infrastructure projects will be identified by Adrian Ellis, Director – New York, AEA Consulting and Richard Parry, Head, UKTI’s Experience Economy team based on UKTI commissioned market research; Poh Chi Chuan, Director, Cultural Precincts and Tourism Concept Development Division, Singapore Tourism Board will discuss future developmental opportunities available for companies keen on expanding their businesses in Singapore; and Karen Cheng, Trade & Investment Manager (Creative Industries Sector lead for China), UK Trade & Investment, British Embassy, Beijing will cover museum and theme park opportunities in the China market and the trend for China to build cultural attractions.
