Underground artist group, Anonymouse MMX, has been at it again. Following the mysterious appearance of a cluster of mouse-sized shops in Malmö last December, the team has created a mouse-sized theme park.
Named after a popular children’s character, Tjoffsans Tivoli has everything a discerning mouse could wish for in a leisure destination.
Thrill rides include a ‘big’ wheel, a creepy cat coaster and a rodent roundabout in the form of a teacup ride. There’s even a fortune teller and a popcorn stand. Admission charges are reportedly furry reasonable.
Anonymouse caused a social media storm when the group’s first bakery and cheese shop sprung up last year. Members of the public even augmented the tiny creations with items including mini loaves of bread.
This latest appearance of the mouse-sized theme park taps into a growing trend for all things miniature.
Small World Inc., recently announced that it is to create two new miniature model attractions in Japan: Little Ambassadors’ Small World Okinawa with Ryubo Ltd., and a ¥50 million Small World in Toyko.
Back in March, it was also announced that Gulliver’s Gate – the USA’s largest display of miniatures – is to open in New York City’s Times Square in May.
The 50,000 sq ft attraction will reportedly depict scenes from around the world, all 87-times smaller than in real life.
Anonymouse has also suggested that it will be creating new miniature works of art in due course although no further information is forthcoming.
And, if anyone knows the identity of the Big Cheese behind the artist group, they’re keeping it a squeak-ret.
