AUS$20 million makeover for Luna Park Sydney

News
Luna Park Sydney

Sydney’s waterfront Luna Park is line for a multi-year makeover. New rides and upgraded classics are planned as part of the AUS$20 million (US$15m) investment.

Park management is also planning to harness the latest in digital technology as part of its four-year plan. According to Australia’s Daily Telegraph, this includes technology seen on Harry Potter rides at Universal Studios and Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland.

“While we will transform the park and bring in new rides and facilities, we will maintain a number of old favourites like Coney Island and not lose sight of our heritage ” says a Luna Park Sydney spokesperson. “Any proposal to refurbish and improve Luna Park will be welcomed by the community if it is faithful to the letter and the spirit of the Plan of Management.”

In total, six new rides are planned. The park by Sydney Harbour Bridge is hoping to grow attendance from its current annual total of around one million.
