Convious, a leading eCommerce platform for the leisure industry, will soon host a topical blooloop webinar designed to help operators who are looking ahead to a new season with differing consumer behaviours.

In the webinar titled How to cope with the new economic situation as an attraction operator, the firm will be talking about how the current cost of living crisis is impacting the attractions industry and how operators can better cope with the current economic scenario and new visitor trends that are developing.

Speakers

Convious managing director UK & Ireland, Andy Povey, will be joined by Decision House director Steve Mills for the exclusive session designed for attractions management including theme park, amusement park, zoo, aquarium, museum and venue-based entertainment operators.

Andy Povey

Povey has worked in the attractions industry since the early nineties when he began as a ride operator at Chessington World of Adventures.

He stayed with the Tussaud’s company and later Merlin Entertainments for another 18 years, working in a variety of operational jobs at Rock Circus, Madame Tussauds, and central support, where he was responsible for the group’s ticketing systems.

After Merlin, he worked for Gateway Ticketing Systems for ten years, opening and then overseeing their UK operation, before transferring his experience to the Convious team.

Outside work, Andy enjoys visiting attractions of all shapes and sizes with his family. Convious has a wide range of clients including Drayton Manor, Movie Park, Taunus Therme and Merlin Entertainments.

Mills started Decision House in July 2017 after working for renowned market research and insight firm BDRC for 15 years as a Board Director and Head of the Culture & Tourism division.

The firm’s work focuses on developing and sharing knowledge to improve understanding of how to provide better experiences for existing visitors, members and stakeholders of cultural organisations, as well as how to effectively grow audiences, develop markets, and understand the feasibility of new projects.

Mills generates his insight from a combination of market analysis and quantitative and qualitative primary research. Clients in the leisure and cultural sector include ALVA, English Heritage, National Trust and Historic Royal Palaces.
