Merlin Entertainments has named industry veteran Franceen Gonzales as the new park president of Legoland Florida.

Gonzales has more than 30 years’ experience in amusement parks, water parks, hotels and family entertainment. She joins Legoland Florida from WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer.

In her new role, she will oversee all park operations for Legoland Florida, Legoland Water Park, Peppa Pig Theme Park, Legoland Hotel, Legoland Pirate Island Hotel, and Legoland Beach Retreat.

Most recently, Gonzales served as WhiteWater’s CXO leading customer experience initiatives.

Prior to that, she was park director at Six Flags Great Adventure and vice president of risk management at Great Wolf Resorts.

“I’m excited to return to my roots in park operations and thrilled to continue the legacy of success at the world-class Legoland Florida Resort, alongside a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences,” said Gonzales.

“Stepping through the park, I rediscovered the sense of wonderment that both children and adults experience here. It’s truly special, and I feel deeply honored to be joining this incredible team.”

Located 45 minutes from Orlando and Tampa, Legoland Florida is a 150-acre theme park with more than 60 rides, live shows and attractions. The park is owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments.

Earlier this year, Legoland Florida debuted its new Lego Ferrari Build and Race attraction, an interactive experience where guests can build Lego race cars and test them using cutting-edge technology.

Elsewhere, Legoland New York’s new Minifigure Skyflyer attraction is opening later this month.
