Interlink, a leading water ride designer and manufacturer, will be heading to IAAPA Expo 2021, which takes place from 16 – 19 November at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida.
The team will be at booth #3000 where they will be revealing more information about new rides and projects. One recent project the company will be highlighting is its SuperFlume ride at a new waterpark on Qetaifan Island North, Qatar.
New themed experience for Qatar
This SuperFlume, which will be the first ride of its kind in Qatar, seats 20 guests in each themed boat. The riders will then be taken on a journey through the history of oil in the area over the last century, with different themed zones revealing different parts of the story and plenty of lifts and drops along the way
For the ride’s finale, the boats enter a cracking tower, where they spin slowly as they rise up a vertical lift, accompanied by a range of special effects, before plunging down a 16m high shute with a splashdown moment at the end.
The company is also bringing a SuperFlume to the new Lost Island Theme Park in Waterloo, Iowa, which will feature 10 boats that each seat six visitors, as well as a 7m and a 14m lift/shute. Interlink is also providing a Water Battle to this US park, with seven boats that each seat eight riders, for a battle time of around 3.5 minutes. The park is set to open next year and will be home to five different themed lands.
Last year, Interlink marked the success of its first Immersive Superflume by taking a look back at the history of the log flume. The Immersive Superflume, created by Interlink and Simworx, brings this ever-popular ride into the 21st Century and first opened at Trans Studio Cibubur in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2019.
