Part of the new experience is a life-size Lego Ferrari 296 GTS model

Legoland Florida has debuted its new Lego Ferrari Build and Race attraction, an interactive experience where guests can build Lego race cars and test them using cutting-edge technology.

The attraction’s centrepiece is the world’s only life-size Lego Ferrari 296 GTS model, which features working headlights, an open driver’s side door, and a roaring engine.

“We are thrilled to open this unique attraction for our guests,” said Rex Jackson, managing director of Legoland parks in North America.

Lego Ferrari Build and Race is unlike any other attraction we have here at Legoland Florida Resort. It celebrates the global popularity of Ferrari and F1 racing while challenging everyone to imagine, build, and race the Lego Ferrari-themed car of their dreams.”

The new experience begins as guests build a Lego Ferrari race car, before scanning it for a virtual race around a digital track. Guests can digitally customise their car’s engine size, tire specs, power and aerodynamics.

“We are happy to strengthen our collaboration with Merlin Entertainments, a key strategic partner for Ferrari, expanding our offering to engage Ferrari fans of all ages,” a Ferrari spokesperson said.

New interactive experience at Legoland parks

“After the success of the Lego Ferrari Build and Race attractions at Legoland California, Legoland Billund in Denmark and Legoland Windsor in the UK, we are delighted to open this attraction at Legoland Florida.”

Jackson added: “This attraction furthers our ongoing collaboration and relationship with Ferrari. Lego Ferrari Build and Race has quickly become a guest favorite at Legoland California and now our guests on the East Coast can design and race Lego cars again and again.”

In more news from Legoland parks, Legoland California has announced an opening date for its new Dino Valley land, and Legoland Windsor is preparing to launch its new Minifigure Speedway coaster this year.
