Stormvåg is an XL version of Art Engineering‘s Wild Swing

Swedish amusement park Liseberg has announced a new family attraction called Stormvåg, or Storm Wave, for summer 2026.

Located between the Fisketuren and Jukebox rides, Stormvåg will take over the area previously home to the iconic Kristallsalongen attraction. It will feature unique boatyard theming, Liseberg said in a press release.

“Stormvåg is a bit reminiscent of the classic Top Spin ride, but here the whole family can ride together,” said Kenneth Berndtsson, VP of operations director at Liseberg.

Area surrounding Stormvåg to be updated

“It’s got just the right amount of thrill to spark spontaneous laughter. It’s simply a ride that makes you really happy.”

Stormvåg is an XL version of the Wild Swing by Art Engineering, an amusement ride manufacturer that develops roller coasters, dark rides, carousels, water rides and more, meaning it’s taller, bigger and faster than the original model.

The area surrounding Stormvåg will also be refreshed, with new toilets and locker storage added.

“The entire area is getting a much anticipated upgrade and the attraction itself becomes the perfect bridge between Kaninlandet and our more thrilling rides,” said Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.

“Stormvåg is a key piece in the continuous development of the park and Liseberg’s overall appeal.”

In more news, Liseberg’s €110 million Oceana water park is being rebuilt after a huge fire broke out at the new attraction in February 2024.

In December 2024, Liseberg unveiled a new design for the park. Then, this summer, Liseberg initiated legal proceedings against the insurance provider Trygg-Hansa, which refused to pay insurance compensation after the Oceana fire.
