Mobaro, a provider of online maintenance and safety solutions, has announced the appointment of one of its directors to a key industry body.
The firm’s director of parks and attractions, David Bromilow has recently been named by IAAPA as the chairman of its global safety committee.
The attractions professional has spent more than four decades in the multifaceted amusement and leisure industry. He spent his earlier years as a mechanical engineer at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, working in technical risk management within Lloyds’ insurance markets, and in special effects and project management for significant blockbuster productions and theme parks around the globe.
Along with his formal career, Bromilow volunteers on numerous industry committees and boards, however, CMMS and ride operations software provider Mobaro says that this most recent addition is a highlight.
Bromilow’s industry influence was also recently recognised with a place on this year’s blooloop 50 theme park list.
International importance
The global safety committee is made up of specialists from the amusement industry, including operators and suppliers. The committee meets in person twice a year to study and debate a wide range of issues pertaining to the business, with a focus on safety, and on an as-needed basis by the IAAPA executive to serve its members.
“Firstly, it is a sincere privilege to serve the IAAPA global safety committee as chairman,” says Bromilow. “I have been a member of this prestigious group for several years and to be entrusted with its leadership if only for a couple of years gives me immense pride.
“The work of this IAAPA global committee and indeed the IAAPA regional safety sub-committees is of tremendous value and importance to our industry and IAAPA members in terms of education and communication in all areas of safety affecting the parks and visitor attractions industry.”
Last month Mobaro attended IAAPA Expo in Orlando following the acquisition of a large number of US-based clients.
