David Bromilow is director of parks & attractions at Mobaro, a provider of online maintenance and safety solutions. He is a leading safety expert for the attractions industry around the world and has dedicated his life to making the attractions industry safer. He is also president of AIMS and serves on the global IAAPA safety committee. Bromilow has been with Mobaro since 2015, and prior to this, he spent five years at Drayton Manor as general manager of park operations. His career began at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1977 as a full-time apprentice engineer at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, following in the footsteps of his father who was also a mechanical engineer there.
“I can remember the first day as an apprentice as it were yesterday as I was assigned to work with my Dad to install the Steeplechase ride with a team from Arrow rides USA,” he reflected.
In 2017, the same year he celebrated 40 years in the industry, Bromilow was appointed as chair of the IAAPA EMEA safety committee.
“Working with the Mobaro team provides me the opportunity to work with parks and attractions around the World and provide guidance on matters of safety, maintenance and operations,” he said, on his current role. “The Mobaro team has from day one provided full support and encouragement to me in support of my volunteer work on the safety committee”.
Alongside his committee work, Bromilow also works on the various safety standards and educational programs within the industry delivered by IAAPA and educational programs such as AIMS International. Along with his peers, he is a dedicated industry ambassador for safety.
“However there is still much to be done, and I am ready, determined and still as passionate to help in the many years to come” he added.
In 2021, Mobaro announced its new ride operations app, connecting ride operators with the CMMS in a milestone for the company’s development.
