Blackpool Pleasure Beach has launched a new app to enhance the visitor experience. The app provides planning details including queue times.

The app also offers information about the park’s shows, events and entertainment. It can be used to store and access e-tickets, book rides on ENSŌ, and purchase ‘Speedy Ones’ fast passes.

The new ENSŌ experience offers a “twisted” ride on ICON. Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said ICON is “the only Mack ride in the northern hemisphere to have this upgrade”.

Store e-tickets and buy fast passes

“Following the development of the park’s new e-ticket park entrance and ride access system, it was clear that we needed to develop a new app which could work with, and support this system,” said James Cox, head of marketing at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

“We initially created a web app which could be used to claim and store tickets and also provide guests with basic information but it was always our intention to follow this up with a native app with much more functionality.”

Cox said the park’s app is “a constantly evolving project”, with Blackpool Pleasure Beach “continually looking at new ways” to enhance the visitor experience.

Through the new app, Blackpool Pleasure Beach hopes to “improve guest satisfaction by creating a constant communication with them so that they can get the best out of their day”, according to a new release.

Opened in 1896, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a family-owned theme park. It boasts 10 roller coasters, including the UK’s first and only double launch coaster, ICON.

This year, the amusement park is taking visitors on a guided tour of the UK’s tallest roller coaster with ‘Walk The Big One XL’, an extended version of the ‘Walk The Big One’ experience.

Guests are encouraged to download the app before arriving at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The park is open through 27 November.
