Otherworld, Ohio’s immersive art experience, is opening its second venue in Philadelphia in May with more than 55 unique rooms and interactive installations.

Otherworld is creating innovative art and entertainment experiences where guests are encouraged to roam and interact with surreal sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

The new self-guided attraction in Philadelphia is home to iridescent creatures, primordial monsters, tubes for play and crawling, infinite expanses of light, and immersive art

The 40,000-square-foot venue was created by more than 100 artists, modellers, animators, creative technologists and fabricators.

Otherworld creates spectacular visual effects using cutting-edge technologies, from holograms and holodecks to projectors and motion tracking cameras.

“Our original Ohio location has become a destination in itself, and we’re excited to present a new space on a much larger scale with ramped up production quality in Philly,” said Otherworld founder Jordan Renda.

“We’re confident that consumers in the city and our neighboring communities will enjoy this new, reimagined experience – something that has never been seen before in Philadelphia.”

Otherworld joined forces with Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group to develop its new location in Philadelphia.

Christopher Stafford, the CEO of Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, said: “Jordan and the Otherworld team have dreamt up a particularly out-of-this-world experience for the Philadelphia market, and we couldn’t be more excited to help bring their creativity to life.”

Speaking to blooloop earlier this month, Renda revealed: “We have a few more locations in the works.

“Nothing is papered at this point, but we want to keep doing this, trying to raise the bar and see how crazy we can make these things.

“There are some other things we’re considering, including an outdoor seasonal experience we’re looking at.”

Elsewhere, Meow Wolf’s fourth permanent installation is set to open later this year in Grapevine, Texas.
