The Producers Group, a global theme park production company, and Extreme Engineering, a leading adventure attractions company, presented The Dark Rider integrated ride and show system at IAAPA Expo 2019.

The Producers Group (TPG) and Extreme Engineering are proud to present The Dark Rider, a new integrated ride and show system that marks a new generation of dark rides. It is the creation of TPG and is powered by Extreme Engineering. The two companies held a press conference at last week’s IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando, Florida, where they unveiled the new system.

“Dark rides are as popular today as they were before the theme park as we know it came to be,” says TPG’s Founder and Co-CEO, Bob Chambers. “The Dark Rider carries this legacy forward with a fully designed and configured attraction that brings immersive story and thrills together in one accessible package.”

A one-of-a-kind system

This floating dark ride combines a proven aerial coaster track, modular columns, and state-of-the-art components. The result is a cost-effective, turnkey product powered by Extreme Engineering’s coaster technology.

“We are absolutely excited to engineer the official ride vehicle system for The Dark Rider,” says Phil Wilson, Executive Vice President at Extreme Engineering. “Think of what you love about floating dark rides—the sense of soaring, great show scenes—The Dark Rider has all of that plus a host of modern features and breakthrough technology.”

TPG Founder and Co-CEO Edward Marks says, “It’s a remarkable, one-of-a-kind system that provides unlimited flexibility, saves time and money, and allows owners, operators, and developers to interface with just one company for an entire attraction.”

In addition to the ride system, TPG will offer three creative packages, with more in development. “It’s been exciting to watch the genesis of the idea blossom into a real product that we know will bring smiles to guests the world over,” says Chambers.

Earlier this year, TPG appointed Jennifer Miller as VP of Content Development. Extreme Engineering has had a successful year, with several Cloud Coaster projects being implemented around the globe.
