The project is planned for a site spanning over 200,000 square metres on Al Maha Island in Lusail City. It is set to include a theme park, beach club, sports venues and a range of entertainment facilities, alongside restaurants and cafes.

Precise details of the project have not yet been unveiled but Qatari Diar says the island will “provide a haven of elite recreational and cultural facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

Continuing innovation in Lusail City

Lusail City was launched in 2005. The self-contained city is set to spread over 38 square kilometres, including four islands. The ultimate aim is to build 19 multi-purpose districts – residential, entertainment, commercial and mixed-use. The overall population of the city is set to stand at around 450,000 people – 80,000 of whom will be visitors.

“Lusail City is the largest single development to be undertaken in the State of Qatar,” says Qatari Diar on its website. “It also embodies Qatar’s National Vision 2030 in the field of real estate development.”

Lusail City has also just announced it is offering villa plots for freehold ownership in Huzoom Lusail, an integrated residential community project in North Lusail.

Linking Al Maha with the Marina

Al Maha Island sits directly opposite the Marina district with its waterfront hotels and boardwalk.

It also abuts Tarfat Lusail, the city’s hub for attractions, including Place Vendôme, the 1 million square metre luxury retailtainment complex. The Parisian-style development was inspired by Rue de la Paix, the high-end shopping street. It combines two five-star hotels, a mall with 600 retail outlets (including a wing dedicated to designer labels) and a central entertainment hub).

Proposal deadline 14th October

The announcement, shared on social media, asks developers and entertainment companies to collect the RFP and submit proposals by Thursday 14 th October, 2021. For more information, either email amd@qataridiar.com or call +974 44974510

Al Maha will join Qetaifan Island North in providing entertainment in Doha.

The entertainment landmark is set to be fully inaugurated at the FIFA World Cup next year.
