Raven Sun Creative, the immersive entertainment design and IP development firm, and Sally Corporation, the creator of animatronics and interactive dark ride attractions, have announced the opening of Reese’s Cupfusion at Hersheypark. The new dark ride is a collaboration between the two companies, alongside Hershey Entertainment and The Hershey Company.

Raven Sun Creative and Sally Corporation are proud to have worked together on the new interactive gaming ride at Hersheypark. The Reese’s Cupfusion attraction features the most targets in the world and has six different ways to play. Hersheypark, in Pennsylvania, covers 121 acres and includes over 70 attractions, as well as a full water park and a zoo.

“Hersheypark is the only amusement park with a gaming attraction that merges the world’s love of chocolate and peanut butter to create a sweet, full-sensory adventure for the entire family,” says Vikki Hultquist, General Manager, Attractions & Entertainment. “We hope our first story-based attraction with multiple ways to play encourages guests to ride Reese’s Cupfusion all year.”

The interactive dark ride was designed overall by Raven Sun Creative. It was manufactured by the Sally Corporation. It combines a state-of-the-art gaming experience with an action-packed story. The adventure ride can be enjoyed by every member of the family.

Defend the factory

Riders become agents and have a mission to protect the chocolate factory, making sure that the world’s supply of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups is not in danger. They must stun intruders to protect the Crystal Cup, which powers the factory. Under Commander Cup, they will defend it from characters such as Mint the Merciless and The League of Misfit Candy. The attraction includes both fixed and moving targets that riders must aim at, with options for group play and individual ‘Easter Eggs’.

Visitors can also enjoy two rides for smaller children, as well as meet-the-character opportunities, merchandise and refreshments. The latest technology allows riders to track their scores and view a free ride photo, through the park’s new guest platform HPGO. This connects a wristband with the Hersheypark app and integrates with the Fast Track programme.

A unique new attraction

“Reese’s Cupfusion is a bold step forward for Hersheypark,” says Louis Alfieri, Raven Sun’s Founder and Chief Creative Officer. “We worked hand in hand with Hershey Entertainment and the Hershey Company to develop a completely new IP for the Reese’s brand, including story, characters, attraction content, and media. One of our goals was to combine the best elements of immersive dark rides, gaming, and world-class interactive attractions to tell a unique story, raise the bar on interactivity, and create an experience that provides endless levels of discovery for the guests as they ride and re-ride the attraction.”

“The development of Reese’s Cupfusion was a true collaboration with the talented creative designers at Raven Sun Creative and a very involved client at Hersheypark,” added a spokesperson for Sally Corporation. “It has been a true adventure from start to finish and we are delighted with the results.”

Sally Corporation has been in the industry for over 40 years and is an expert creator of interactive dark ride attractions.

Raven Sun Creative delivers immersive entertainment design, one-of-a-kind environments and themed attractions for theme parks, museums, sports and entertainment venues, cultural attractions and more. The company hired ex-Disney Project Coordinator, Jun Wu, to join the team in 2018.
