Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) chairman and CEO Tan Hee Teck is retiring from his position, with Lee Shi Ruh taking over as CEO.
The news was announced by Resorts World Sentosa’s operator Genting Singapore.
Lee as been with Genting Singapore since 2010. She has held several leadership positions, including chief financial officer of the company, and a director on the board of RWS.
She currently serves as president of RWS, a role she took on in September 2023. She begins her new job as CEO on 1 June, and will continue as chief financial officer of Genting Singapore.
As well as his role at RWS, Tan is stepping down as CEO of Genting Singapore, with Tan Sri Lim taking on the role of acting CEO from 1 June and continuing to serve as Genting Singapore’s executive chairman.
Tan was named CEO of RWS in 2007 and chairman of RWS in 2015. He was president and chief operating officer of Genting Singapore from 2010 until 2022, when he was named CEO.

“It has been an incredible honour to be part of Genting Singapore for over 20 years,” Tan said in a statement.
“I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together, especially introducing RWS to the world, and now beginning its exciting transformation into RWS 2.0.
“As I approach my 70th birthday, I look forward to a new chapter where I can devote time to pursue my interests and do more in giving back to society.”
Resorts World Sentosa is an integrated resort on Singapore’s Sentosa island.
Spanning 49 hectares, it is home to attractions including Universal Studios Singapore, the S.E.A. Aquarium, Dolphin Island, and Adventure Cove Waterpark.
As part of a $5 billion expansion of RWS, dubbed RWS 2.0, Universal Studios Singapore recently launched its new Minion Land.
