Ride Entertainment, a leader in the supply and installation of some of the world’s most thrilling attractions, worked with The Funtime Group to deliver Booster Unhinged.

Ride Entertainment is the sales partner for The Funtine Group, one of the attraction’s industries premier designer of extreme thrill rides. Its latest creation, Booster Unhinged, adds more thrills to the popular Booster ride.

Prater Park debuted the world’s first Booster Unhinged ride in the spring of 2019. Riders experience three separate motions at the same time on the ride. The main boom rotates, the seating rigs rotate, and each individual seat has a free-flipping gravitational motion.

Thanks to the unique individual seating on the ride, riders have unobstructed visuals as they fly through the sky, unsure of which way is up and which way is down.

Re-imagining a popular ride

“After over 20 years of success with our original Booster rides, Funtime felt the time had come to re-imagine the concept and deliver yet another dimension of thrills that our clients and fans expect from our company. Booster Unhinged exceeded all expectations as eager guests lined up to experience this world’s first experience.

“Our entire team was excited to introduce the new concept at the famous Prater Park, which has become one of our favourite locations to debut prototypes given its proximity to our factory in Dölsach,” says Hannes Lackner, Funtime Group’s General Manager.

In the spring of 2020, two classic Booster rides will open at Six Flags St. Louis and the Great Escape. Lackner says that “Funtime continues to increase the capacity on amazing extreme rides so they can work in traditional theme park environments. The debut of Booster Unhinged at Prater and the new rides at Six Flags properties show that there is still an appetite for unique thrills like this”.

The Booster Unhinged in Prater Park has a capacity for eight riders per cycle, but the ride also has 16 and 32 seat versions.

Skyline Attractions, a sales partner of Ride Entertainment, recently announced the launch of its new Skywarp Orbit ride.
