SeaWorld Orlando‘s new ride ends up in the penguin habitat

SeaWorld Orlando has opened Penguin Trek, its first family launch coaster. The new ride has an innovative design and is the Florida park’s eighth coaster.

Located in SeaWorld‘s new Antarctica realm, Penguin Trek boasts an indoor and outdoor track, with guests racing on snowmobile-style ride cars at speeds of up to 43 mph.

Made by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), Penguin Trek takes riders on a thrilling expedition through the Antarctic wilderness and the crumbling hazards of an icy cavern before putting them in the park’s penguin habitat.

“We are incredibly excited to unveil our newest addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s outstanding coaster lineup,” said park president Jon Peterson last month.

Penguin Trek offers a unique blend of thrills and education, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the wonders of Antarctica while highlighting our dedication to wildlife preservation and family-friendly fun.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming families and thrill seekers alike to experience the fun of this incredible coaster.”

Penguin Trek is SeaWorld Orlando’s eighth roller coaster and comes after Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, which opened last year. It also joins the park’s Mako and Ice Breaker coasters.

New Antarctica realm

As for the park’s new Antarctica realm, this includes the South Pole Sips bar, the Expedition Café, and the expansive penguin habitat.

Next month, Orlando’s Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek is opening a a themed suite inspired by the Penguin Trek coaster and Antarctica realm.

SeaWorld Entertainment recently changed its corporate name to United Parks & Resorts.
