Roaring Timbers is the first attraction to launch as part of Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park‘s ‘Exotica’ expansion.

Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, an amusement park in Phú Quốc, has opened the first wooden roller coaster in Vietnam, called Roaring Timbers.

Roaring Timbers is the first attraction to launch as part of Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park’s ‘Exotica’ expansion. It will be joined by two more new attractions, as well as new entertainment and F&B, later this year.

Manufactured by Great Coasters International (GCI), Roaring Timbers reaches heights of 32.4 metres, with maximum speeds of 80km/h across 890 metres of track.

“Roaring Timbers features 14 hills and 14 exciting crossovers that pass over or under another section of track, making this one of the most twisted wooden pieces of art in the world,” said Brad Loxley, Sun World’s chief operating officer.

Roaring Timbers launches in Phú Quốc

Phú Quốc is a Vietnamese island off the coast of Cambodia. Hon Thom Island in Phú Quốc also features Sun World’s Aquatopia Water Park. Sun World, Sun Group’s entertainment brand, operates various theme parks and entertainment complexes in Vietnam.

These include Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park, Sun World Fansipan Legend, Sun World Halong Complex, Sun World Ba Den Mountain and Sun World Cat Ba Cable Car.

“Roaring Timbers represents the first of several new attractions and expansion lands that will be opening in our Sun World Parks in 2022,” said Daan Duijm, Sun World Group’s director of operations.

“We are looking forward to welcoming the world back to our beautiful Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park in 2022, where we have been busy creating more unforgettable world-class experiences for our guests to enjoy.”
